The penalty for sin is death, physical and spiritual death. “For the wages of sin [the cause] is death [the effect]; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” [Romans 6:23] What we deserve and what God offers are two different things. If we deserve death, why would God offer eternal life? The answer to this rests in the fact that God loves us so much that He gave His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to die for us on the Cross of Calvary and shed His innocent blood as the payment for our sin debt. “But God commendeth his love [the cause] toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died [the effect] for us.” [Romans 5:8] You, as a sinner, are the reason Christ went to the Cross. “For God so loved [the cause] the world [you are the reason], that he gave…… You will never regret trusting Him as Saviour, but you will regret not trusting Him. God loves you and He wants to save you, and you are the reason for this pamphlet.
