“If my people, which are called by my name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways: then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chron. 7:14).
Today in the United States of America we find ourselves at an all-time low. We, as a nation have sunken to an all time moral low and, just when we think the morals of America have hit bottom, the anti-God crowd begins to dig deeper. We as a nation no longer wield the spiritual influence as in days gone by. The very Constitution upon which this country was founded has been, and is being, rendered null by the un-American and ungodly forces around us. Our schools have been saturated with a humanistic philosophy which, in turn, is taught to our young people. It is a philosophy which teaches children that they are not evil in nature, that there is no God that they have rights in spite of what their parents or the Bible says. Television programs are filled with sex, violence, and mocking of God. Men and women dress in a very immodest manner. Rock music has destroyed all sense of morals.
Homosexuality is more rampant than ever in America with both churches and government sanctioning it. Many states are passing laws for the marriage of sodomites, and the judicial system is approving them. Homosexuality is not a normal lifestyle; it is an abomination for which a thrice holy God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. (Genesis 19:1-25) God’s condemnation of this perverted lifestyle is again found in Romans 1:20-32 as well as many other places in His Word.
Hollywood and its company of moral lepers constantly manifest their disdain for anything or anyone that would dare to propagate the Word of God. Filthy, foul-mouthed, womanizing politicians are more accepted in the United States Congress than a president who believes the Word of God. The government school system (a.k.a. Public Schools) has thrown out the God of the Bible and then it wonders what is wrong with young people.
But, the worst part about all of this is that Christians, those who have received Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, have grown so cold and uncaring. Many preachers no longer preach the Blood of Christ. The teachings of God’s Word on divorce, homosexuality, ordination of woman, separation, etc., are ignored. If ever there was a time in America when the Word of God needed to be declared, it is today, while there is yet time to do so.
America, repent, or else!
If the evil which permeates these United States is ever to be stopped, if we expect God to ever again bless this great nation as He has in the past, then we must take the formula given to Israel and apply it to ourselves. God’s people must take this formula in II Chron. 7:14 to heart on an individual basis. A true revival begins in the heart of the Christian.
While there is still time, America repent! God will hear our prayer and will again bestow on us the abundance of His blessings.
America, repent!
