The Verdict Is In . . . Ye Must Be Born Again! “If someone would have asked me 15 years ago to describe a “born again” person, I would have given the example of a phony, self-righteous person who, after “getting religion,” would use the title to somehow vindicate himself from any wrong doing and excuse his behavior.

The Bible says in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” If you’ve committed just one sin your whole entire life you would be ineligible to enter heaven because God’s holiness cannot co-exist with sin in any way, shape or form. However, Jesus Christ the eternal Son of God shed His blood and died a cruel death on the cross of Calvary to bear the punishment of all the sins of humanity. Yes, that means your sins and my sins! Jesus Christ in effect became our substitute so we wouldn’t have to roast in hell for eternity. He paid the price in full! God’s Word says that if we receive this truth- if we accept this gracious gift of Jesus Christ as Saviour- then He will receive us into His family. We are therefore “… born again… by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” (1 Pet 1:23) The Bible also says: . . .”
