The words “beautiful” [an adjective] and “beauty” [a noun] vary according to how they are used. And on the human level there are two types of beauty: exterior beauty and an inward beauty. Exterior beauty is what the naked eye sees or thinks it sees. Why? Because all of us see things differently. Then we have the inward beauty that the normal eye does not see but, it is there, nonetheless. Comparing exterior beauty to inward beauty, we may say that one is how they look and the other who they are. In all honesty, all of us look at other people in different ways because that is our nature. We may meet a person who may be unattractive but as we get to know that person, we may see an inward beauty, something that reveals what they are like on the inside, in the heart. Did you know that God looks at us differently than how we look at each other? It’s true – He really does! Please allow me to briefly explain.
