I wish to commend Dr. Richard Ciarrocca for the many hours of labor in putting this tool together for the purpose of helping develop a better understanding of missionary needs and for opening his heart to the reader in such an honest way.
1 Cor. 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
As with any document it is good to look for the key that helps one understand something about the Author and the manuscript that has been written. More often than not this lies pretty close to the front door and it is here that Dr. Ciarrocca (better known as Mr. C) states his objective and to whom he seeks to enrich with the experience and insight that comes from many valuable years of Christian service. He clearly states his position as well as his promise as you read thru his thoughts which are meant to encourage the reader. He states he has no axes to grind. I often say to my audience be sure to listen to the whole message before forming your final opinion, I believe this is fair.
This book is not in story form yet there are stories in this book. If you are reading this foreword I think you will benefit most by subject division unless you are one who just reads every book from front to back, which I think is great.
Although there are things said that you may not agree with in these pages, there are things to glean that are very valuable to having a healthy ministry. There are things said that we the reader might say a little differently but we need to keep in mind we are the reader not the writer and yet the provoking of our minds to ponder the matter, that in its self can be very helpful.
There are a good many common sense things that has been shared and could be very beneficial; I remember something that my precious dad said many years ago, common sense is not so common after all.
The sections on missionary quotations and how to pray for your missionaries were a special blessing to me and in my opinion are alone worth having in your library. A lot of research was done here.
As with any book one should always read with the understanding that Bible principles are to be our guide through the thoughts written down by Godly men.
