It is not unusual to hear someone say something like, “Where is God when I need Him?” or “Where is God when I want Him?” The Bible, God’s Word, has much to say about this but for now, please consider what is said in this verse: “The LORD is nigh [near at hand] unto all them that call [make a request as in prayer] upon him [as opposed to a counterfeit religion, god], to all that call upon him in truth [trustworthy which is the opposite of false].” {Psalm 145:18} Even though God is in Heaven [Deuteronomy 26:15], He is omnipresent [everywhere at once] [Proverbs 15:3]. When a person who is drowning screams [calls] for help, he is doing so in truth – there is nothing fake about it. As someone has said, He’s as close as our heart cry but as far away as our unbelief and our refusal to trust Him.”
