A short definition of “neutral” means to not take sides on something. In the vernacular we call it “straddling the fence.” The problem with being a fence straddler is that they are open to attack from both sides. “Straddling the fence means to avoid taking a clear position or making a definite decision on an issue. It often refers to someone who is indecisive or hesitant to commit to one side or another.” [copied] Now the question becomes, “Is being a fence straddler a safe position to take?”
