Even though most Christians are aware of Gospel tracts, they may not fully understand just how effective they can be. The Gospel tract is not meant to take the place of personally, verbally sharing the Gospel with people but rather to compliment the witnessing. Many times it is not possible to take time to witness to a person but a Gospel tract that is left with them can do the witnessing later. Pilgrim Fundamental Baptist Press has a handy little booklet called Tips for Tracts. The Tips booklet has a lot of practical suggestions for using Gospel tracts and can be helpful to enhance the Gospel tract ministry of any church or individual.
