Salvation and Eternal Security

excerpt from the gospel tract:

“Can I be saved from my sins? And if I do get saved, what happens if I sin again? Will I lose my salvation?” Have you ever had these questions, or similar ones on your mind? Did you know that it is possible for any person to know how to be saved, and then to have the assurance of that salvation and eternal security (eternal salvation)? That’s right! You can know right now how to be saved for all eternity. Want to know? Good! Here’s how. . . .

————————————-

So many people do not understand the biblical doctrine of eternal security. The PFBP Gospel tract “Salvation and Eternal Security” gives a brief but biblical presentation of this subject. So many people have a “I think so” I may be saved mentality, but they lack any real assurance. Many well known Bible teachers (so-called) have the “I think so” idea; God’s Word is absolute on a “I know so”understanding of salvation and eternal security.

Romans Road

The Romans Road is an old road; construction on it was begun about six thousand years ago. Approximately two thousand years ago it was completed. Yes, the Romans Road is an old road, and it’s a famous one, too. Since construction on this road began, people from all walks of life have been traveling it. No, not everyone has traveled the whole length of it. Some of those who began the trip died on the way (accidents, war, suicide, illnesses, etc.), others were enticed to use another road, and still others didn’t care about the trip. However, there have been a few who went all the way, and were ever so glad they did. Perhaps you haven’t realized it, but you are on the Romans Road this very moment. You say that you have never heard of this famous road! Well, then, please allow me to lead you down it.

The Romans Road may be found in the book of Romans, which is the sixth book of the New Testament in God’s Holy Word, the Bible. At the beginning of the Romans Road, chapter three, verse ten we read that, “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.” This is the natural state of man: lost and not seeking after God.

Further down the road we find the reason for this. . . .

Real Peace In A Troubled World

The Berlin wall has come down, and the Communist barbed wire and guard posts are gone. We are told that Communism is dead, and that those countries and people once under Communist rule are now free. We’re told that the world is at peace, so they say. The truth of the matter is that the world is NOT at peace. In 1994 American armed forces were sent to Haiti. In Rwanda Hutu and Tutu slaughtered each other. In Bosnia the country is destroyed by ethnic fighting. Iraq rattles its war sabers while Israelis are being shot at by their foes and murdered by homicide bombers. And so the list grows and goes. Thepresident of the United States sends forth his Secretary of State of negotiate peace while dispatching the military to enforce it. The fact is, world peace just does not exist – it cannot in a world so ravaged by sin! It’s no wonder that individual people and whole nations are in constant turmoil. But don’t despair, friend, for peace, that quietness and rest, is possible in this present world of chaos. . . .

Look & Live

look and liveIf you received a deadly snake bite, what would you do, submit to the prescribed treatment or question and doubt it? Would you first have to have all of your medical questions answered about the treatment? Would you rely on your own ability to provide the needed cure? Or would you do what common sense tells you to do, realize that you are in a serious condition and about to die, and without further delay accept the offered cure for what it is, the only remedy, your only hope. . . .

Death Unexpected

IN a song titled, “Death Unexpected,” the song writer wrote these words,  “…death unexpected, I surely was surprised, …” Death unexpected, it happens when one least expects it! A new-born child is put in its crib for a nap, never to awaken again. A young child playing in a street is struck by a moving vehicle or a stray bullet from a street gang fight. A teenager overdoses on drugs, or dies in an automobile accident while out “joy riding” with some friends. A policeman or firefighter is killed in the line of duty, a construction worker on the job, or someone sitting in the quietness of their home – death unexpected! A terrorist’s bomb, or just a heart attack -death unexpected! You name it, it happens all the time – death unexpected! It happens without warning often when one is in the prime of life and the future, humanly speaking, looks bright, but there it is – death unexpected! Unannounced, unwanted, unprohibited! Standing as a monument to the grim reminder of death is the graveyard, a perpetual testimony to the mortality of mankind. Death unexpected, no respecter of person regardless of wealth, fame, education, societal influence, etc. When death unexpected comes calling, all must answer and yield.

Death unexpected, we cannot prevent it from happening, but we can be prepared for it when it does. How? By trusting Jesus Christ as personal Saviour. Those who have repented of sin and received Christ as Saviour are prepared for physical death, for they know they are forgiven and saved, and at death though the body is placed in the ground, their eternal soul will forever be with God in Heaven (2 Co. 5:6-8). For the Christian, death is not to be feared, for it has no hold – it is a vanquished foe (1 Co. 15:53-55). How can this be?. . .
