The moment I became "born again," however, I realized what the term truly meant: that I was eternally forgiven from all my sins and I had a right standing before God. And I know it! And it’s Biblical! And it’s imperative!

The Bible says in Proverbs 18:1: "Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom." My friend, there must come a time in your life when you completely pull yourself away from the world and examine yourself the way God sees you. Why? Because your soul will spend eternity in either heaven or hell according to God’s Word. The Bible says in Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." If you’ve committed just one sin your whole entire life you would be ineligible to enter heaven because God’s holiness cannot co-exist with sin in any way, shape or form. However, Jesus Christ the eternal Son of God shed His blood and died a cruel death on the cross of Calvary to bear the punishment of all the sins of humanity. Yes, that means your sins and my sins! Jesus Christ in effect became our substitute so we wouldn’t have to roast in hell for eternity. He paid the price in full! God’s Word says that if we receive this truth- if we accept this gracious gift of Jesus Christ as Saviour- then He will receive us into His family. We are therefore "… born again… by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever."

(1 Pet 1:23) The Bible also says: "...as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" (John 1:12).

My friend, this Biblical salvation is an uncomplicated matter and it’s the only way of salvation that God recognizes. The Bible says "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Rom. 3:23) The verdict is in! There is no way to escape this truth! Your sins have to be paid for one way or another-either by Jesus Christ on the cross or by you in hell. There is no amount of religion or good works that can save you because it is the sin issue in your life that has to be remedied before you can ever expect to enter the pearly gates of Heaven. You must with your heart recognize your sins, realize that they are against God and His holiness, and face up to the fact that you are a lost and hopeless sinner deserving of hell. Accept with your heart that Jesus Christ and only Jesus Christ can and will save you. Then trust Him with your life. If you sincerely do this you will be born again and you will know it. Please remember: I am not judging you. The verdict is already in; it has been issued by God Himself: ye must be born again!
