Laws, laws, and more laws! Everywhere we turn there are laws governing one thing or another. Granted, some laws seem pointless, but most are good and they serve a useful purpose. Take for example a traffic light. These exist for the orderly flow of traffic, but not everyone wants to obey them. People, for whatever reason, run red lights and when the police catch them, they have an excuse for why they ran the red light. But the policeman doing his job just replies, "Tell it to the judge." Or the person caught exceeding the speed limit, "But officer, I was ..." Again, the officer just says, "Tell it to the judge." The law was established, but it was broken. Was that the fault of the officer? No, it was not. His job was to enforce the law. So, whose fault was it that the law was broken? It was the fault of the one who broke it. He did so with no regard to the consequence, so, "Tell it to the judge." As someone has said, "Do the crime, do the time." Or to phrase it another way, "Do the crime, pay the fine." You don’t agree? Tell it to the judge!
People of this world are so wrapped up with their jobs, family, sports, entertainment, etc., that they have no time for God. Daily they ignore His warning of, "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Ezk. 18:4,20) How have you sinned? Just by being born into the human race - "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; ..." (Isa. 53:6a) "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one." (Romans 3:10-12) "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." (Gal 5:19-21)
Friend, have you seen yourself in these verses? Will you not take time to repent of your sin and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and be your Saviour? You may say that you’re too busy right now to repent and be saved, but you’ll never be too busy to die, and then it’ll be too late. "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:6-7). Friend, God loves you (Jn. 3:16), Christ shed His blood and died for you (1 Pet. 1:18,19), He bodily rose from the grave the third day ( 1 Cor. 15:4; Eph. 1:20), and today, right now, He is in Heaven. God is being patient with you because He does not want you to die without Christ and go to hell (2 Pet. 3:9). Ask Christ to forgive you and to come into your heart and be your Saviour. Then, you won’t have to face Him as judge and, "Tell it to THE JUDGE."
For those who repent of their sin and receive Jesus Christ as Saviour, God gives us the assurance of salvation in 1 John 5:11-13, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." We also have the responsibility to live for Christ (1 Cor. 6:19). After receiving Christ as Saviour, you are encouraged to spend time in God’s Word, the Bible - read it daily. Daily come to the Lord in prayer, and then seek out a good independent, fundamental Baptist church. Attend it regularly so that you can be taught God’s Word and grow spiritually.
